Redmi has launched an affordable range of smart TVs, which run on the latest Android 11 TV operating system.

Available in 32-inch and 43-inch screen sizes, they offer full HD display and colour reproduction. The visuals are decent even for low-lit scenes or for latenight streaming sessions. The screen is not glare-free though.

The new smart TV has the PatchWall 4 launcher, which offers streamlined content. Its updated version refines content even more vividly.

For example, it groups recently watched content together so you don’t have to search movies or shows that you left halfway through. There is also a Live TV function on the launcher where select channels can be watched for free, but you need to download apps separately.

In terms of performance, the smart TV does feel slow while navigating and switching between apps. It is powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor with Mali G31 MP2 GPU. It packs 8GB storage but has only 1GB RAM.

It has a compact remote with dedicated buttons for a quick wake, quick mute and quick settings along with hotkeys for Prime Video and Netflix. The smart TV packs 20-watt stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos. Both audio levels and the sound quality are good and give no reason for complaints.

The added support for DTS Virtual:X and DTS-HD improves the overall audio experience. The television model comes with two HDMI ports, one of which supports HDMI ARC. There are two USB 2.0 ports, an AV port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, one ethernet port and an antenna port.

Redmi Smart TV checks most of the boxes and is a true valuefor-money device.
